Pioneer Interstellar Greeting Keychain

Identical, unmanned, space probes, Pioneer 10 and 11, launched, respectively, on March 2, 1972 and April 5, 1973. The two spacecraft studied Jupiter (Pioneer 10) and Saturn (Pioneer 11) on their journey to the edge of our solar system.  At the time of this writing, Pioneer 10 has reached the edge of our solar system and is on the verge of entering true interstellar space!  It is the first man-made object to achieve this extraordinary feat.  Both Pioneer 10 and 11 carry an “Interstellar Greeting Plaque“, showing the location of our solar system in our galaxy.  The plaque, designed by Dr. Carl Sagan and Dr. Frank Drake was drawn by Linda Salzman Sagan.  Her drawing depicts two unclothed human beings – one male, one female.  The male’s right hand is raised in a gesture of greeting.  Should an extraterrestrial intelligence intercept the probes, (perhaps millions of years from now!) this plaque will serve a benevolent message to them from the people of Earth.

Now you can own a miniature version of this NASA greeting as your keychain!  Made from polished brass and epoxy-coated for long life.  Show everyone you know man’s place in the galaxy, today!
